(POMPANO BEACH, Fla.) Stuart M. Hansen Jr., 65, died Nov. 11, 2016, after suffering a cardiac arrest.
A memorial service with military honors will be held Feb. 11 at 10 a.m. at Calvary Chapel, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Stuart will be interred in the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, Fla.
Mr. Hansen was a generous man who sought to bring life and laughter to all he met and treasured Jesus as his Lord and Savior. The first of five children of Stuart M. Hansen Sr. and Marjorie Johnson Hansen, Stuart spent his early years in Buffalo, N.Y., before moving to Detroit and then on to Kettering, Ohio, where he graduated from Fairmont West High School. Stuart, a veteran of the Vietnam War, earned a Good Service Medal serving two tours of duty including Germany. He moved to Florida where he worked as a mechanic for several years. He also formerly owned property in Wedowee.
He is survived by his three brothers, Gary Hansen, Steve Hansen and Jim Hansen; sister, Susan Gayle; four nieces and a nephew; his stepmother, Sue Hansen; and stepbrother, David Lutzman.
