Steve Hopkins

HOPKINS, Steven "Steve" Age 55, passed away unexpectedly, June 1, 2006. He was born January 21, 1951, in Dayton, Ohio, to Emma Hopkins and the late Loren James Hopkins. He retired from GM Truck and Bus, Moraine Plant, in 2002 after 30 years of service. After retiring, he had a passion for farming with his brother-in-law, Hal. He enjoyed boating and skiing on the Ohio River in Manchester and was an avid auto racing fan. Steve is survived by his wife of 29 years, Lynn Hopkins; children, Nicholaus (Andrea) Hopkins, Loren Hopkins, Matthew Hopkins; sister, Rebecca Shepard; nieces and nephews, Scott and Jim Shepard, Dylan Stormont, Kasey, Jesse, and Tyler Linkart; "Lynn's Mom", Mary Finney; sisters-in-law, Cheryl Finney and Dave Knick, Sue (Hal) Stormont, Chris (Greg) Linkhart and a host of close friends. He was preceded in death by his father- in-law, Kenneth Finney. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 4, 2006, from 4-7 pm in the Ingling Williams Funeral Home, Cedarville, where services will be held at 10 am Monday, June 5, 2006, with Pastor Doug Graham officiating. Burial will follow in Bellbrooke Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Parkinson's or Alzheimer's Associations.
