Diane Kempfer (Miller)

Cheryl A.Withrow, 64, of Newberry, died at UP Health Systems Hospital in Marquette Monday evening March 28, 2016.

Born on May 18, 1951, in Dayton, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Calvin and Minnie (Davis) Congdon. Cheryl held various employments throughout her life, she was a Repair Station manager for ATT and the first woman to climb their poles, and was later, a journalist for five newspapers and two magazines. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Newberry and also played in the bell choir, President of the Newberry Women's Club and was very active as a volunteer for many civic organizations. She loved landscape design/decoration and was a passionate gardener. Cheryl was preceded in death by her father Calvin.

Survivors include her husband Charles, whom she married in 2006 in Chipley, FL; daughter Amanda Kuechler in Vernon, FL; 12 grandchildren; mother Minnie Congdon of Portland, OR; siblings Daryl Congdon of Portland, Oregon, Nancy Congdon also of Portland, Oregon and Sue Suddick of Texas.

According to her wishes, cremation services have already been accorded. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at the Newberry United Methodist Church on Saturday April 9, 2016 at 10:00 am with Pastor Tim Callow officiating. Family will gather at the Newberry United Methodist Church after 9:00 am.
